The Jewish LGBT group Keshet Austin and the Jewish Community Center of Austin are sponsoring a 12-day LGBT trip to Israel that coincides with Tel Aviv Pride.
The trip is open to people of all faiths and to people throughout Texas and elsewhere.
Pride week in Tel Aviv begins May 29 and runs through June 5. Friday starts the weekend in Israel, so the parade, which draws several hundred thousand people, begins at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 3 and ends with a beach party from 3 p.m. until sunset.
In addition to Tel Aviv, the tour includes visits to the walled city of Akko, the cliffs and grottoes of Rosh Hanikra, a stay on a kibbutz, the artist’s colony and home of kabballah Safed, Jerusalem including a visit to the Knesset to meet with members of the Knesset working on LGBT rights, Masada and a dip in the Dead Sea.
The ground price is $3,300 per person based on double occupancy. Single supplement is $746. Air arrangements should be made individually. Registration closes on April 1.
For more information on the trip, contact Keshet’s Aliza Orent at 512-735-8030 or by email.
