Dallas Wings, 3-3 on the season, continue their three-game road trip tomorrow (Saturday, May 26) with a 5 p.m. game against the Dream at Atlanta’s McCamish Pavilion. The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports Southeast.

The Wings fell just short of a comeback win over the 2017 WNBA champion Minnesota Lynx last Wednesday, May 23, in Minneapolis, 76-68, despite outscoring the Lynx by 17 points in the second half.

Minnesota posted an early 13-4 lead, but Dallas came back, led by a Skylar Diggins-Smith three-pointer and a layup from Kaela Davis to finish the first quarter down by only four, 21-17. But the second quarter was all Minnesota, as the Lynx dominated defensively and outscored the Wings 25-4. The half ended with Dallas down, 46-24

But the Wings came back with a vengeance in the third, outscoring the Lynx 19-9, using an 11-2 run to make it 55-4. The comeback continued in the fourth as Dallas again outscored Minnesota, this time by a 28-21 margin, but the Wings ran out of time before they could completely close the gap and claim a win.

Liz Cambage led the Wings with 14 points, 12 rebounds, a career-high four assists and three blocks. Kayla Thornton recorded her second start of the season and scored 11 points and pulled down nine rebounds.

Diggins-Smith, an All-Star guard for Dallas, added 12 points and tallied a game-high seven assists. Rookie Azurá Stevens led the Wings off the bench with a career-high nine points and four rebounds.

For Minnesota, First Team All-WNBA selection Sylvia Fowles recorded 23 points and 20 rebounds to mark the first 20-point, 20-rebound game in Lynx history.

After Saturday’s game in Atlanta, Dallas heads to White Plains, N.Y., for a 6 p.m. matchup with the New York Libert at the Westchester County Center. That game will be broadcast via the WNBC League Pass and the regional sports network MSG+.

Then the Wings come back home for a June 2 game against the Seattle Storm, starting at 7 p.m. at College Park Center (broadcast on Fox Sports Southwest), before heading to Indianapolis for a 6 p.m. game against the Fever (broadcast on League Pass).

Dallas starts a two-game home stand, facing the Phoenix Mercury at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, and then hosting the Las Vegas Aces at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 15, when the Wings will be celebrating National LGBT Pride Month. Both of those games will also be broadcast on Fox Sports Southwest.
