Georgia state Rep. Tom Kirby doesn’t mind naturally occurring mermaids. He’s not too keen on centaurs, but he agrees people could get around better if they had wings.
But we shouldn’t be creating these things by combining human DNA with animal DNA. If people grow wings naturally, he’s fine with it.
“The mermaids in the ocean, that’s been around for a long time,” Kirby said. “I don’t think we should create them. But if they already exist, that’s fine.”
