The Dallas chapter of the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS recently distributed grants to 15 AIDS services organizations in North Texas.
“Due to the success of DIFFA Holiday Designer Wreath Auction and the popular Dallas Collection, DIFFA/Dallas is able to grant even more money to supplement these organizations that make such a difference in the lives of those with HIV,” said Greg Haynes Johnson, chairman of the DIFFA/Dallas board.
“We recognize and thank all of our volunteers and sponsors that made these grants possible, and we are thrilled to add the Elle Decors Dining by Design event to our fundraising season, which will make even more grants possible in 2007,” he said.
Organizations receiving grants from DIFFA/Dallas included Legacy Counseling Center, AIDS Services of North Texas, AIDS Services of Dallas, AIDS Outreach Center of Tarrant County, the Resource Center of Dallas, JPS/Partners Together for Health, AIDS Arms, A Sister’s Gift, Dallas Legal Hospice, Samaritan House, AIDS Resources of Rural Texas, Tarrant County AIDS Interfaith Network, White Rock Friends and Health Education Learning Project.
DIFFA was founded in 1984 to mobilize the resources of the design communities, and in its 26 years has given more than $35 million to AIDS organizations nationwide, officials said.
Haynes Johnson said the DIFFA/Dallas chapter is the national organization’s most successful chapter.
