Lucas James Spickard was sent from God and welcomed into this world on Sept. 12, 1975, in Detroit Lakes, Minn. Spickard returned to God on March 11, 2012, at the age of 36 in

Dallas. He is deeply mourned by his family and the many friends that loved him.

Spickard is survived by his mother, Aliceann Donaldson (Michael) of Panama City, Fla.; father, Gene Spickard (Chris) of Detroit Lakes, Minn.; six brothers, Paul Spickard (Tara) of Alabama, Mark Spickard (Renee) of Colorado, Michael Donaldson (Charlotte) of Germany, Timothy Donaldson (Darlene) of North Dakota, Benjamin Donaldson of Florida, and

Robert Donaldson of Florida; sister, Sarah Eckberg (Ron) of Minnesota; 13 nieces and nephews; maternal grandmother, Jeanette Scheeringa; eight uncles; three aunts; numerous cousins; his partner, Donald Dupler; and his close and longtime friend Jack Polachek.

Spickard spent most of his adult life in Texas and had many close friends in the Dallas area. A celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at the Cathedral of Hope, 5910 Cedar Springs Road. A reception will follow at the home of Jack Polachek, 4212 Cochran Chapel Road.
