That’s my friend, chocolate maker extraordinaire, Sarahbeth Yeli Marshal, owner and chief cook and bottleScreen shot 2016-03-18 at 10.25.50 AM washer over at Yelibelly Chocolates. (She also happens to be a most amazing belly dancer. That’s where the “belly” in Yelibelly comes from.)
Sarahbeth — and therefore Yelibelly Chocolates — also happens to be a staunch advocate for LGBT equality. She was making special chocolates for same-sex couples’ weddings — like the ones pictured above — before same-sex marriage was even legal here in Texas. And she will be one of the many vendors with a booth at the Wedding Party & Expo: An LGBT Community Event, taking place Sunday, March 20, 1-5 p.m. at Renaissance Dallas Hotel, 2222 N. Stemmons Freeway.
If you are planning a wedding, or thinking about planning a wedding, and hoping one day you will have a wedding to plan — then you don’t want to miss this expo. There will be close to 100 vendors, live entertainment, food samples, a community marketplace and cake. And, of course, Yelibelly Chocolates, which in my most humble opinion are some of the best chocolates you’ll ever have!
And if you need to start planning a wedding but have no idea where to start, get there early and check out the Wedding Workshop, 9:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m., featuring LGBT wedding experts Kimberly Vaughan with LGBTWeddings.com and celebrity wedding planner Donnie Brown.
Admission to both events is free, and so is parking.
And while you are there, be sure to go by the Yelibelly booth. Tell Sarahbeth Tammye Nash said hello.
