Stand-up comedian Fortune Feimster has a face you probably recognize, even if you don’t recognize her name. Her most recent roles have been as Bear in Chick Fight, the voice of Counselor Jerry D in Soul, Pinky in Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar and Jean the paramedic in Yes Day. But if you have ever seen her on RuPaul’s Drag Race or if you saw her 2020 Netflix special Sweet and Salty, you know she doesn’t need somebody else’s script to be hilarious. Now you have the chance to enjoy Fortune in person when she performs two shows — Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 2-3 — at The Majestic Theatre in Dallas. Tickets start at $32 and are available at Ticketmaster.com.

Get scared here
It’s that time of year again: The weather is getting cooler; the leaves are turning colors. And the ghosts and ghouls and zombies and demons are crawling out of the woodwork — especially just south of Dallas and Fort Worth at Screams Halloween Theme Park in Waxahachie. The annual scarefest — which features five different haunted houses, food, drink, vendors, dancing, Scary-oke (scary karaoke) and more — opens its 2021 season this weekend and runs each Friday and Saturday night through Oct. 30.
