Daryl Presgraves, a spokesman for GLSEN, sends along word that Westboro Baptist Church picketed outside the American Airlines Center in Dallas before Game 3 of the NBA finals tonight. The photos above and below were posted on Twitter by Westboro members. According to a schedule on WBC’s website, tonight’s picket was partly in response to the NBA’s recent decision to fine two players for using the word “faggot”:
WBC will picket the NBA game between the Dallas Mavericks and the Miami Heat to warn this nation that they need to tear down their idols and worship only the true God, Jesus Christ. The people of Doomed america set up these spoiled, rebellious basketball players and other celebrities as little gods that they emulate then curse the real God, Jesus Christ because He does not supprt their vile sins.

Like the ancient Israelites, this nation has turned their collective back on the the Lord their God and refused to obey. The prefer to worship their powerless idols and pay false prophets to lie to them. They would rather live like these filthy celebrities by fornicating, divorcing & remarrying, and supporting fag-filth than to hear about God’s standards – to the peril of their never-dying souls. Nevertheless, WBC will kindly warn them to flee the wrath to come by repenting and obeying. Doomed americans cannot continue to live for the devil then expect to get to heaven. Hell and damnation awaits these idolatrous fools.
Additionally, the NBA has an official policy of kissing fag ass. Players in the league can be fined for disagreeing with the sodomite mantra “It’s OK to be gay.” The ancient citizens of Sodom & Gomorrah also chose to side with the fags against God and look what it got them – Total Destruction at the hand of an angry God!

I believe that God created all, has a plan for all, and loves all. I believe God probably detests hatred of any kind. When you hide behind God you put Him to the test and I think there was a biblical quote about that? “Love one another as I have loved you.” Now, reference once, just once, in the New Testament, when your savior Jesus was alive, where he disbaraged anyone (aside from throwing the Moneychangers out of the temple). Yep, that’s what I thought. You can’t.
The Bible has been rewritten many times by many King’s who thought they were of divinity. I’d pretty much weigh that in before I make a final judgement. Oh, and one last comment: It probably infuriates you that Jesus was the son of Mary, a Jewish woman and the step-son of a Jewish carpenter? Or do you deny this fact as well? Idiots, plain and simple. Get a life and perhaps a little self-fornication is in order for all of you who belong to this horrible cult-like organization that conveniently calls itself a church!
I feel sorry for WBC so much hate in their lives. Its a shame that America doesn’t stand up and say hate speech is not free speech. But at the end of the day WBC do more good for LGBT rights than they do bad as they create the common enemy that regardless of race, sexuality, disability or gender we can all look at with pity and think this is wrong

DAMN. After they were here last year, I wrote to Phred Phelps to thank him for helping us raise so much money and to let me know when he was coming back so we could do some more good for the AIDS Resource Center. I even sent him pictures of the Phred Phelps Memorial Ice Maker with a lovely thank you note. How rude of him not to let me know he was in town. I’ll bet NO ONE else has ever sent him a thank you note and invited him back before. Well, he’s just rude.
As a recovering hate addict, I hope we can be more respectful of peoples religious orientations. We shouldn’t judge Westboro. If they picket my funeral, please serve them iced tea and cookies.

This Westboro Baptist Church says they hate the Gay-Community. But, they also hate African Americans, Dr. & Mrs. King, Canada, Sweden, the Fire Department of N.Y., victims of 911, other Christian churches, the pope, Judaism, America, our American troops and the list goes on and on. Many of the groups they despise are specifically named on their hate propaganda, picket signs and their many websites. They not only hate, but wish death on all whom they abhor.
This so-called church spreads its hate through picketing in our streets, provoking attacks, with abusive vulgar language and flag desecration, attempting to create a confrontation. This is not about protesting, this is about a life of hate. They are not peaceful. They are not a “church.” They go after any thing that can get them in the news. This group will protest anything to get its face on TV or in the news. It is about an old man lost in the darkness of hate, who will put his grandchild in danger to save himself.
These people protest at the funerals of our troops. Do we have a real need to protest at any funeral? Is that a real freedom?
The city of Topeka, the state of Kansas and the U.S. at large, its citizens and their churches, schools and events are all held hostage by this “hate group.”-always at the tax payer’s expense.
Cam: you’re missing the point. Children like these throw tantrums and launch tirades in order to get attention. I bet if everyone ignored them, they really WOULD go away. The reason they keep coming back is because their tactics are working: they’re getting attention. I bet if you had gone to Woody’s or JR’s after their little hate cry rally, you likely would have seen most of them.
