The summer movie season kicks off next weekend with the release of Captain America: Civil War, but for a lot of us, even more anticipated is X-Men: Apocalypse from out director Bryan Singer. The X-Men franchise has always felt like a property the gay community could relate well to, because of the themes of outsiderism and empowerment.
