As you may have heard, Taylor Garrett, the gay Republican cast member from The A-List Dallas, claims he was assaulted on Friday night in Dallas by someone who carved “Fuck Coulter” into the side of his vehicle, according The Daily Caller.
This marks the second time in six weeks Garrett has reported being targeted for his association with conservative commentator Ann Coulter and for being a gay Republican. Last month, Garrett alleged that a rock with a threatening note attached was thrown at the window of his Dallas Design District apartment. Some gay bloggers have alleged that Garrett falsified the report about the rock as a publicity stunt in advance of the premiere of The A-List Dallas.
We don’t know much about Friday’s incident beyond what’s already been reported, but we did manage to track down a copy of the police report Garrett filed, and we’ve posted it below.
Sr. Cpl. Gerardo Monreal, a spokesman for the Dallas Police Department, said today there have been no arrests, and he was unsure whether the case has been assigned to a detective yet. As you can see from the report, the suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet, 2 inches tall. The suspect had a dark beard and was wearing a baseball hat.
The incident occurred at 10:20 p.m. at 2800 Knight St. (near Congress Avenue), where Garrett had parked his blue 2008 Audi. According to The Daily Caller, Garrett was returning to his car to retrieve a birthday gift for a friend when he noticed the suspect. According to the police report, Garrett yelled for the suspect to get away from the car. That’s when the suspect punched him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground and strike his head against the concrete. Garrett suffered a bloody nose and a cut to his ear. He returned to the party a few blocks away before calling authorities. He was treated at the scene by paramedics from Dallas Fire-Rescue.
Jason Shumaker, a spokesman for Logo, the network that is airing The A-List Dallas, said this morning that Garrett is traveling all day today and was unavailable for comment.
GOProud, a gay conservative group with which Garrett is affiliated, alleged on Twitter this weekend that the incident is an example of “anti-conservative violence from the hateful gay-left (again).”
The full police report is after the jump.
UPDATE, 3 p.m.: Laura Martin, the Dallas Police Department’s LGBT liaison officer, said this afternoon that a detective has been assigned to the case and has already spoken with Garrett.
“We’re definitely aware of it and we’re looking at it and we’re in contact with him,” Martin said. “There are no leads at this point.”
Martin said Garrett was unable to provide any additional info about the suspect, beyond what was in the initial report. She also confirmed that Garrett declined to wait for physical evidence services — or PES — which means police weren’t able to take photographs or attempt to get fingerprints from the side of the vehicle.
“Obviously there is damage to his vehicle and there is damage to his face, so it does appear that he was assaulted,” Martin said. “We just don’t know by whom.”
Martin said regardless, the incident doesn’t appear to be a hate crime.
“From reading the report, it sounds like he was targeted again for his political views and his association with Ann Coulter,” she said. “Unless he was targeted strictly because he was gay, it’s not a hate crime.”
Dallas Voice was contacted earlier today by CBS 11, which reportedly will air a story about the incident this afternoon. Martin said she’d also spoken with a reporter from The Dallas Morning News.
He is a reality tv star driving a 2008 Audi? probably base model at that. Maybe I am a bitter old queen or just jealous but when did being a drunk and a whore on tape be a-list? I don’t get it.
So, he sells out his own community to groups that openly admit to wanting to eliminate us (the Republicans) and he expects us to feel sorry for him? I don’t agree with physical violence, and if this story is true and not a publicity stunt, then I hope they catch the person who did it. However, don’t go stabbing your own people in the back in exchange for 15 minutes of fame, and then come crying for them to support you when something bad happens. The Republicans oppose ANY form of gay rights, and even advocate allowing children to be bullied for their sexuality if you’re doing it for “Christian reasons.” They all have blood on their hands, and that’s a much more serious situation than getting a little dent in your car, sorry.
If you’re a homosexual that makes a mockery of the entire community on a ridiculous (pretend) reality show, and align with people that exist only to deny them basic rights (COULTER, delusional log cabin idiots, etc.), I’d say you need to hang out at church and not in the Gayborhood. No one deserves an assault, but common sense should tell you that much.
Jo Malone: Good point.
Let the “liberals won’t listen” comments begin:
More like the f-list. A bunch of unknown people with a tv show. Nothing a-list about that.
Is this attack any more believable than the last? Hardly. If it is what happened, then he asked for it: OPENLY.
Are you kidding me? Let Us throw another brick threw his window. Some one who knows who he is and knows where he was at a certain time. HOW IN THE HELL DOES HE KNOW WHO DID THIS? Give us all a break. Taylor your !5 mins of fame are getting shorter by the second. Do something positive for the community, or just go away.
If I wear KKK regalia through a predominantly black neighborhood, think I’ll get my ass kicked? Rocket science. Pure rocket science.
Really? The perp had enought light at 10:20pm on that street do scratch all that on such a dimly lit street? I don’t think so! His attempt to keep blaming the hateful gay left has no basis in reality, especially when Dallas’s LGBT community couldn’t be bothered by what he thinks or his political affiliation. He probably got bitch slapped by his boyfriend!!!
I know him in real life. He’s a jerk. I don’t feel badly for him.
This guy is a joke and bad example for all of the GLBT community of Dallas. Please quit giving him attention.
Question: Why do we care about these people when they should have charges filed against them for slander and defamation of character again the Dallas Gay Community?
How sad that anyone would have the misfortune of pursuing 15 minutes of fame with these results. I blame Logo for making this fool a target. Change the channel and move on.
Jason,
Yea, instead of staging a “prayer” outside Cathedral of Hope for a boyfriend for the show, he could pray in private to be a role-model for others and serve as an example of dignity that would garner respect for his minority within minority views.
Violence is appalling but *could* be thought of as a natural consequence given the pushing of the envelope and some of the individuals in society. This is not an excuse or saying it’s deserved, but what is the objective of A-List?
Is it to show self-destructive, shallow individuals and rile up public sentiment to garner higher ratings?
“A-List Dallas” puts forth some of the worse stereotypes and cliches.
You have a “big-dicked” (supposedly) Cowboy trying to make a living off his assets & “inch wear”, sloppy drunks and a game of musical friendships based on surface pretensions.
I hope the money that A-List pays is worth the hit to the self-respect of it’s participants.
on the one hand i hope the story is true- because i dont want to believe logo or even the most pretentious of all people would stoop so low as to stage something like this for publicity? that would be totally low-brow kardashian, wouldnt it?
FUCK COULTER……………………..She should be so lucky that anyone would even consider it.
hmmmm if he is trying to be a good role model for the GLBT community shouldnt he have been at the Black Tie dinner and festivities this weekend???? Sounds like a load of bs if you as me.
Wow, what a bunch of hate filled vile gay people commenting, who claim to be tolerant. #HYPOCRACY
The police report has a Y for “GANG ACTIVITY CRIME” how does one join this gang? Tony’s right, why would an “a-lister” not be at something more pretentious instead of hanging out with the riff-raff?
Just an observation. Both the DV article and the Police Report state that the victim had a bloody nose and that his ear was cut and bleeding. The photo doesn’t show any signs of a bloody nose, or any blood on the face, neck or clothing indicating a nosebleed. I guess my question is, if these injuries occurred as described, why would someone clean the blood off his nose but leave the blood on his ear? And for what it’s worth, the victim’s prominence (or lack thereof) in show biz doesn’t figure into this. I have never watched a single episode of his television program. Again, just making an observation.
I would note that there is a lot of blood on his undershirt and on his skin. As someone who is so in the media and scene, I would think he’d be better dressed to attend a Friday night party.
Given the track record of events, I wouldn’t be the first to say he’s the boy who cried wolf.
PUD,
Why should we TOLERATE someone that does anything and everything possible to keep our entire community in a second-class status?
Go PUD yourself, buddy.
How is no one talking about this important question: Was he REALLY wearing a white tank top to a friends birthday party in November? He should have his card revoked. Secondly, why would you walk into the brithday party empty handed and come back a few hours later to get the gift?
@Henry: Why would you go to that neighborhood without a gun in the first place?
Ah, 3000 Knight St – The ILLUME again?… :-/
Does the ILLUME own stock in LOGO or visa-versa? 🙂
It seems like it’s a magnet for bad stuff for Mr. Taylor and those around him = ILL for U and ME?
… just saying
Who cares? The “A” in A List stands for ALMOST in this case. It could also stand for entry level Audi.
shame on all of you writing these horrible and hateful comments. Taylor is a kind and caring person as well as a loyal friend. a person is physically attacked and almost put into the hospital and many of you say he deserved it?! shame on you and keep the negativity to yourself
and another thing, if you were not present during all of this please just shut your mouth. obviously the photo was taken after he cleaned up some and his ear was bleeding on and off for hours after the attack. saying he is the boy who cried wolf is just ignorant – he was beaten by a stranger – how is that crying wolf? again shame on all of you
@dylan – Technically, according to the report, his ear was bloodied by a left-leaning, government-intrusion-on-private-property-Obamacare sidewalk. Just wanting to make sure the facts are correct.
He may be a kind and caring friend, but he is also a self-made target. He proudly kisses the ass of someone that has made a career of being a homophobic sociopath (Coulter) — and he does it on television. No one deserves a beating, but don’t whine about getting one if you BRING IT ON YOURSELF.
And while we’re at it:
WHO watches this A-List crap? I wouldn’t recognize this guy if he was sitting right beside me. The only reason I’ve even heard of this crappy show is through articles about this guy that have come along recently. I find it odd that someone would throw a rock through a window (come on, now) if they really had a problem with him. If it were really politically motivated or a hate crime, I doubt they’d be throwing rocks with notes through windows, far away from anyone. Seriously, what kind of crazed criminal (snicker) does that? Does this show need ratings that bad? It REALLY must suck more than I assume.
Also, there was an attack recently in Reno (a real one) that got a great deal of press coverage. Now, this schmuck was suddenly attacked — shortly after the vicious window incident.
Interesting.
I think it’s a bit excessive how people have taken this reality show, his personality and character traits as well as the demonstrations that have taken place. He is allowed to be him, who cares what he supports, who he supports, he is a human being like any of us. To have your car vandalized is completely disrespectful. To be assaulted because a person feels like they can do it, is beyond absurd. I truly wish the best for Taylor, and I hope justice is served to the suspect(s). People will always have an opinion about a person, they will always have something awful or negative to say. None of us should fear for our lives because of it when we are out being normal citizens.
If it’s true, I hope the assailant is identified. We need a decent Grand Marshall for next years parade.
Ryan, You wrote “anything and everything ” describing how he is trying to keep you as second class. He is just quietly conservative. How does that keep you down? Why does what someone else believe affect you? How narcissistic. And then I’m attacked just for commenting. You libs can’t respectfully disagree with anyone. It’s always ATTACK.
@dylan – Please point out where people said he “deserved” it. I see many statements saying that the violence was not deserved, if it was real.
I don’t understand why your kind and caring friend would immediately go to the media with his story and pictures and then on the other hand say such things as he didn’t want his name in the police report. Heck, they published the story the next day on Dailycaller.com. Is it his intent to be used as the poster child for groups denigrating the intolerance of the “far left” and promote a personal political agenda?
Maybe Taylor should take his friend Ann Coulter’s advice & Pray Away the Gay, he’d probably be much happier…
https://joybehar.blogs.cnn.com/2011/07/27/ann-coulter-you-can-pray-the-gay-away/
“She also confirmed that Garrett declined to wait for physical evidence services — or PES — which means police weren’t able to take photographs or attempt to get fingerprints from the side of the vehicle.” Taken from the above story.
Declined to wait for evidence to be gathered………….how very interesting.
PUD – Sorry, but he is on a national TV show every week, expressing his views and opinions. That is NOT being “quietly conservative” by any stretch of the imagination. As far as your assessment that everyone commenting on here is a bunch of “hate filled, vile gay people”, I’m afraid I must respectfully disagree with you. Everyone on here is making it clear that they aren’t willing to allow Mr. Garrett and his cohorts to make a mockery of our city and more importantly, our community. To my knowledge, there are only two actual GAY bars that have allowed that show to film in their establishment and it’s NONE of the bars on Cedar Springs. That in itself should be a clear message to the producers that their brand of “reality” television is neither tolerated nor welcome in Dallas. Mr. Garrett has been very open about his allegiance to the GOP, and while he certainly has that freedom to do so, he has opened himself up to incredible public scrutiny. I am truly sad that he has been assaulted, and I hope the person responsible is brought to justice. My hope would be that the folks over at GOProud would stop with the finger pointing and help work on a solution to the violence that seems to be happening more and more towards members of our community.
PUD:
And conservatives are always the poor little victims.
This gay republican act he takes to the airwaves is hardly being a quiet conservative. It affects me when my kids have to listen to this RIDICULOUS FAG-HATING FAG talk spewing from these people’s mouths. Gay republican rhetoric sets the gay community back decades. It’s just embarrassing to see.
And so long as he’s shouting the praises of having FEWER civil rights than the fine straight folk, he deserves whatever VERBAL ATTACK comes his way in the comments section. No one deserves a beating, but some people don’t deserve respect.
Pud, keep preaching smaller government (which means smaller government ONLY for straight people and your imaginary sky friend Jesus, while the gay community gets told by Uncle Sam who we can/can’t marry). Keep preaching freedom and liberty (which have been redefined by republicans, and have come to equal the greatest intrusion on the lives of citizens — are you Jan Brewer’s pal too?). Keep sucking republican cock while they laugh openly at your lifestyle ‘choices.’
PATHETIC.
This argument will go nowhere. Let it go, guys. You won’t change each other’s mind.
All these reality shows are fraud, especially The A-List. Having seen them live, its all a hoax just for ratings. Dont believe one word of it.
I’m sorry bu tI still don’t understand why the Logo Executive Producer (John Hill) supposedly tweeted congratulations to Taylor Garrett per below after the first incidence.
Has this been answered? Has Dallas Voice or anyone got a response to this question?
Wonder if he communicated his congratulations after this latest incidence on making the headlines for his Gay on Gay hate crime claim?
Regarding first Rock-Throwing incidence… 10/9/11
https://joemygod.blogspot.com/2011/10/whats-story-logo.html
Yesterday Logo executive producer John Hill tweeted congratulations to A-List: Dallas cast member Taylor Garrett for “making headlines” with his gay-on-gay hate crime claim. Embedded in his tweet was the link to my second post on the alleged incident. When I questioned Hill as to whether he’d played a role in the stunt, his tweet to Garrett was instantly deleted.
@ Steve: you wrote :”My hope would be that the folks over at GOProud would stop with the finger pointing and help work on a solution to the violence that seems to be happening more and more towards members of our community.” Sounds like the gay left is assaulting this young man. Not Republicans.
This is why I wrote that the gay left is vile…your words peeps:
• No one deserves a beating, but don’t whine about getting one if you BRING IT ON YOURSELF.
• But when did being a drunk and a whore on tape be a-list?
• If you’re doing it for “Christian reasons.” They all have blood on their hands,
• He probably got bitch slapped by his boyfriend!
• He’s a jerk. I don’t feel badly for him
• FUCK COULTER
• Keep sucking republican cock while they laugh openly at your lifestyle ‘choices.’
Ryan still didn’t answer the question: How does someone else’s beliefs pit you in a second class? And how does “Gay republican rhetoric sets the gay community back decades .” How does an opinion set you back decades, really?!? Sounds like a victim to me.
When are you guys going to quit, after he is killed??
My last comments:
Ryan, you’re being pretty dramatic. Seriously, let it go.
PUD, This is the comments section, not the supreme court. You’ve made your point. Others have tried to make theirs, whether you agree with them or not.
Both of you: Go have a beer and chill out. I’m sure others have something to add to the conversation.
Well I think this guy and those losers at GOProud deserve to have their asses kicked but unfortunately no one has, so they fake it. If someone called me a liar twice you can bet the 3rd time I’d have let the police look for evidence. I for one did not cry when Roy Cohn died of AIDS I called it poetic justice. So when one of these girls from A-List or GOProud dares to venture out of the ghetto and gets their asses kicked. I will laugh.
What I’m saying (cause I think they’re slow) is because you’re faking attacks & thereby associating yourselves with real victims and have such internalized homophobia…if someone really kicks your ass- don’t expect anyone to care.
As far a Logo TV – any businesses they film at here or in NYC and any advertisers on Logo – I take my business elsewhere.
find it most interesting that—- one: it was his car –two: they knew which car was his—three: knew when he would be there for this to happen—-four: he did not wait around for evidence to be collected (read above story)———very interesting
You have got to be kidding me. This is a fake attack if I have ever seen one. This little punk is just trying to get attention. He’s faked attacks before. Listen “Taylor or David or whatever your name is”, YOU ARE A NOBODY. You are NOT A-list. The republicans in this town DO NOT like gays and they DO NOT LIKE YOU! Stop while you still have a small amount of dignity. Please honey, for your own sake.
As a former gay republican I am appauled at the responses I see here! I am now a liberal but there is nothing wrong with having certain conservative beliefs. It is just unfortunate that most conservatives believe that we are all going to hell. IF WE CAN’T TOLERATE REPUBLICANS HOW CAN WE EVER EXPECT THEM TO TOLERATE US!!! This guy didn’t deserve this or didn’t open himself up to this! Did the black guy in Jasper, TX deserve to be dragged miles by a rope tied to a back of a automobile just because he was in a hick town in east Texas??? Toleration works both ways people!
hey anyone that dont like Taylor Garret need to look at there self and find one good thing about them if the any at all i like Taylor Garret i think he a good guy and i hope the guy that did that to Taylor goes to jail to rot
Ok…. Bois and girls! Really? Someone that is a victim of any crime should not be a victim once again by unwarranted comments! Who really cares if there on a tv show that we all might not approve of for the community of “Dallas A List” …. Bottom line if your really in the “community” you know this crap happens no matter what you think you are! J/S.. So if it makes you feel better to bash anyone no matter what there life depicts “get a life” even though I don’t agree with what is going on in the show as true Dallas men, I have to take it as what it is reallity… Thats all! So don’t be so harsh as to judge someone.
All I can say is, KARMA IS A BITCH!… it was probably one of his fellow “A-listers”…a few of them seem to have some anger management issues…as well as other issues. This isn’t even newsworthy…because NO one cares.
and also … “at 2800 Knight St. (near Congress Avenue)” ummm if you’re so “A List” wouldn’t you pay to park somewhere, or have your “driver” drop you off…instead of parking BLOCKS away…hahahahaha…oh sorry…was that rude? good
When you’re a delusional, narcissistic, attention-seeking douchebag, don’t be surprised when trouble finds you.
Is True Entertainment getting paid to film A-list Dallas via Rick Perry’s “pay to play” fund?

Check out below what Chris Christi, who Ann Coulter supported, did to these “pay to play” taxpayer incentive schemes!
Film incentives: A bad idea that won’t die
https://www.scpolicycouncil.com/research-and-publications-/jobs/1489-film-incentives-a-bad-idea-that-wont-die
I really think it’s a PR stunt after seeing him being told by his producer congratulations. At the very least Taylor is using this to get more publicity by running immediately to Tucker Carson’s media outlet and providing them with stories pictures in time for them to report about it the very next day. This is compounded by the FACT that he did not allow the Dallas Police to do their job and proceed with the PES and get fingerprints and pictures.
What is vile is the A-List Dallas show.
Heck they go to Austin to film and get kicked out of a Venue there? Pulllleasse!
Kudo’s to the Dallas Bars (nearly all of them) that will not allow this Fluff in our bars…
Boo to COH for participating in this, after the Piazza fiasco and letting Mona go this does not sit well with some…
Please don’t paint all the Left or Right with the same paintbrush. By doing that you are objectifying and dehumanizing.
GoProud does this and a couple of people (just a few) have done this.
Really? Now he’s our James Byrd “the black guy” in Jasper?!!! OK I am done. just done. Good luck out there.
again I am shocked and disgusted by some of these comments. this was not some kind of publicity stunt! I’m also saddened by the hatred and intolerance my community is giving towards Taylor. let me make it clear that this show is for entertainment and shouldn’t be taken so seriously – there is no “reality” show that is totally real – its just a tv show people. what is completly real are the attacks Taylor has had to endure throughout this show. so to all of the people calling Taylor a doucebag etc… stop tearing down others so you can feel better about yourself.
@Ed, I’m thinking Mr Garrett really didn’t really want Dallas Investigators to do the full investigation!
Team Garrett “is probably being a bit overdramatic.” like their fellow GOPer in New Mexico!
https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2011/jul/15/gary-johnson/gary-johnson-says-tax-breaks-made-new-mexico-secon/
Wow, for people to try and pick apart whether a claim of attack is fake or not WTF? We are all in this together and often targeted for this sort of thing whether we’re Republican or not.
I wish everyone would stick up for one another rather than being like a bunch of catty bitches. No one deserves that.
Ed, the “Piazza fiasco” (whatever that is) and “letting Mona go” (she resigned and left on her own, by the way) happened in 2003. Time has passed, things have changed, people have moved on and that whole story is now ancient history. I’m not quite sure how you came up with the idea that there is even the most remote connection between the events of 8+ years ago, and this news article. I’m also not seeing any connection whatsoever between what happened in 2003 and the television program you refer to in your comment. If COH is “participating” (your word) in “this” (your word–whatever “this” is), then the most likely scenario is that they are chasing the almighty dollar. Otherwise why would they bother?
The previews of the next show on A-List Dallas show them inside the Cathedral of Hope with Rev. Dr. Jo Hudson praying for James I believe… with Ashley looking over… :-/
Don’t know *why* they’d want a film crew from “A-List” Dallas inside.
You see people saying it’s only a scripted “reality” show and we shouldn’t take it seriously and should be able to separate the reality of their outside lives from the “unreality” of the what’s included in the show.
The lines are kinda fuzzy to me – wish Logo would have picked some other city to bestow this jewel upon…
Does anyone know where the radical gay left are in Dallas? Taylor and GOProud are the only ones that seem to know, as they are repeatedly victimized by them. Which is quite odd, as I haven’t seen them in my 30+ years in the gayborhood, hmmmmm……..
@Ed, just follow the money when dealing with these conservative “characters”!
Sarah Palin Cover Up? Alaska Removes Film Incentive Page
https://www.politicususa.com/en/sarah-palin-film-incentive
Oh, Sweetheart… Of course we believe you. Those mean gays are out to get you. You are in danger, girl! You should immediately leave Dallas and stay away until you hear from us that it is safe to come back. We’ll call ya….
Regardless of his political affiliations his nasty personality would bring this upon him. He is pretty much certifiably crazy and in desperate need of attention as all of these little tricks on this show are. When he doesn’t get his way he cries like a baby. Yes, if you are a true A lister you would valet your car and not park it in a secluded area!! He is right that the gay left can be very vile, nasty, and hypocritically intolerant of opposing views especially when a gay person doesn’t fit into their “agenda”. They become the most close minded in regards to others opposing views and define them as “hate” vs disagreement. THere’s a huge difference. If he were a nice person, however; these types of things would be very unlikely to happen and we wouldn’t be seeing this. I don’t think he’s faking it. He’s an easy target and his pompous and arrogant communication of his different views helps fuel this fire. With that being said, if you know something about the incident do the right thing and tell the DPD. Even this nutball deserves to have his attacker caught.
@Dylan – “let me make it clear that this show is for entertainment and shouldn’t be taken so seriously” Seriously? while I don’t like seeing anyone getting hurt, when I say Karma is a bitch, I’m being serious too – this is NOT entertainment – there’s nothing entertaining about watching a bunch of pretentious mo’s flat out saying they’re better than anyone else – if he is so great, then he should of portrayed himself as such on the show – and he does not – again, karma – when he attacks and talks shit about everything and everybody…it’s coming back 3 fold on him . there are repurcussions to everything people say and do…he should relized that before opening his mouth in the first place. There are A LOT of people in this city that are pissed off by this show, and the people on it…and he isn’t the only one taking heat for their actions on the show, I’ve seen other members in public being berated and screamed at…he’s just the only one that runs crying about it. and what was said about the bars – it’s still true, even after filming, they don’t want them in their establishments, for the main fact that it’s causing problems for the bar owners because of fighting. and if you notice, every “party” they have…there really aren’t that many people there…because the rest of us, want nothing to do with them.
Whether a reality shows is scripted or not, the one thing to remember is: The character you’re playing on the show is you, it’s your reputation you’re putting out there.
Who should believe anything from those so desperate for attention they trash their reputations on national television? Taylor & friends should revisit the story of The Boy Who Cried Wolf to better understand the doubt the general public has at this point to his stories.
It is very sad this generation has the five minutes of fame mantra as their priority. They don’t realize that it can take a lifetime to correct the damage done in those five minutes.
Regardless, no one should ever be harassed, assaulted or a victim of vandalism for any reason. I hope this case is solved soon and those responsible jailed.
https://www.frontiersla.com/Features/Exclusive-Interviews/Story.aspx?ID=1539173
What impression do you hope to make on viewers?
Taylor: “I hope I can be relatable to everyone in some way. I want to share my life with people, not just become another reality star no one likes.”
Can you say, EPIC FAILURE!!!
– I’d hate to see the makeup bill for this production, and that’s without Ashley’s included.
Jeff Stryker shared his life with people and was VERY relatable to most of his audience…just saying.
Found this interesting…
https://www.bettyconfidential.com/ar/ld/a/a-list-dallas-star-taylor-garrett-my-mom-prays-for-me-to-be-straight.html?pageID=2
AH: Yes, exactly how did it come to be that you had lunch with Ann Coulter?
Taylor: I was approached recently by GOProud, which is a spin-off of the Log Cabin Republicans, to possibly work for them, pick them up as a client and do some fundraising and PR work for them. So I had a meeting with the executive director Jimmy LaSalvia, and while I was there he wanted me to met with Ann who happens to sit on their advisory board. So I met with Ann mainly at the request of Jimmy and we had a friendly lunch. He wanted to see what Ann thought of me; it was more or less mainly a professional meeting. All we did was talk about politics. It was a very interesting lunch…
*****
LeviCrocker Levi Crocker Twitted about an hour ago…
@cspixs who said I believed he was attacked?
Yes, little Taylor this was a hate crime…but not because you’re gay. People hate you because you’re an asshole.
@RYAN – NO! We are NOT “all in this together” as is obvious by the fact that TG supports and helps to raise money for people who actively seek to deny us of our equal rights. He chose his side and choices have consequences.
I don’t wish violence on anyone but don’t expect me to have sympathy for this little prick. We are still waiting on his statement as to why he wouldn’t allow the police to collect evidence from the “crime” scene. If you had been assaulted wouldn’t you do everything you could to help make sure the perpetrator got caught? Of course you would…anyone would…unless of course they faked the whole thing.
So Taylor you are approached by GoProud a couple of months ago, then meet with Ann Coulter and shortly after list her as one of your inspirations on your Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/davidtaylorgarrett and then receives your their “youth leadership” award?
Taylor did you take ANY time in researching Ann Coulter’s recent (say last year or two) statements and positions regarding the Gay community before making her one of your idols?
This in addition to your decision to participate in “A-List Dallas” and engage in self-deprecation does tend to make the average person question your motives and veracity.
Heck Levi twitted yesterday around 5pm “@cspixs who said I believed he was attacked?
You yourself had stated that you would like to go into politics but feel that they would view your participation in A-List Dallas as a highly negative occurrence and it might have detrimental effects upon doing that.
I wonder if when discussing this with your family, which you say does not have cable and has not seen the show, that you make them aware of how you are portrayed in A-List Dallas and the things you do and say?
That would be crucial for them to know in understanding the situation.
You want us to be able to take you at your word and not feel that this is some PR stunt given the circumstance you have CHOSEN to enmesh yourself in?
Only time & change will allow that.
I feel sorry for you if you actually are a target and hope that you will provide all the cooperation you can in assisting the Dallas Police to catch the perpetrator.
Levi Crocker was just asked via Twitter (11/17 ~1pm)
DarkDaisuke @LeviCrocker: So do you doubt Taylor’s claim? Sorry I’m curious since you two well were together and you know him better than anyone else
Levi responded: @DarkDaisuke I don’t know what to believe. There are a few parts that don’t quite add up to me, he was bloody and he does have a black eye.
I met Taylor a few years ago just after he moved to Dallas from Georgia and I immediately thought he was an uppity twink that thinks he is is better than anyone else. I watched how he would only associate with really attractive looking guys, partially the older guys that drove expensive luxury cars. I immediately thought “gold digger.” He would go out of his way to not speak to guys that where of a lower income level or not in his social circle. Unfortunately the guys he did associated with at that time had his same attitude toward others, so he was in good company. @Taylor, The guys you dismiss because you don’t think they are good enough to be associated to you are so much more real than you are and I’m sure are much more liked.
In regards to Levi’s comment: there’s a lot that doesn’t add up to him so that comment makes sense (and yes I know Levi so I know his history and what he’s like)
also to Hawaii guy: obviously you don’t know Taylor at all. what you described is more of a perception from someone who is jealous of or mad at Taylor for whatever reasons. I’ve known Taylor for many years and he doesn’t claim to be better than anyone nor gives that attitude. so sorry you feel that way but Taylor is sweet, caring, smart, loyal, and has much going for him so I can understand why you might be jealous
From hearing from others that were at P’s party, something seems fishy about this story. I would recommend a you have a container of salt, not just a grain or two.
It appears another caste mate of Tucker’s questions his story about the attack.
Chase 11/18 ~ 2am
@LeviCrocker @cspixs haha!! That makes two of us, levi 🙂 dont believe everything you hear @cspixs , honey. That makes you look stupid…
One would think that even if the are “twitting” to scripted character, they would support Taylor (or remain silent) if they actually believed his story regarding the attack.
@Dylan. I would never be jealous of a pretentious Queen.
I just can’t believe these losers are generating so much discussion. They are a shameful embarrassment to themselves, Dallas and the gay community in general. They are like Dallas gay versions of the Kardashians or the Jersey Shore folks …only with less class and self respect.
We can debate whether or not he faked the attack . That’s just good high-queen drama.
But come on! These people are pathetic. I would be so embarrassed to even know one of them. They are so stupid they don’t even realize the title of their fancy tee-vee show is SATIRICAL…
Unfortunatly Im going to have to say, HE DID IT HIMSELF. the rock thru the window, now this. He is just a prissy drama queen wanting attention.
Tired: filing a false police report is a crime–one that could unravel his entire A-List gig. Do you really think he did it himself? (I mean…he DID stop the cops from fingerprinting his car…)
Another publicity stunt by a member of a group who have little if any credibility with the gay community.
The fact that he would not wait for evidence to be taken suggests he was not serious.
To quote the police:
Martin said Garrett was unable to provide any additional info about the suspect, beyond what was in the initial report. She also confirmed that Garrett declined to wait for physical evidence services — or PES — which means police weren’t able to take photographs or attempt to get fingerprints from the side of the vehicle.”
No evidence equals no case.
@Ryan: No, we are not “all in this together”.
We are not all attention-seeking assholes embarrassing the f-ck out of ourselves and our city. If this is a hate crime (if it is a crime at all) it is because he is a loser bringing shame on this city and this community on national television…not because he is LGBT.
to all off the people saying this assault was a “stunt” or basically saying he deserved it – heaven forbid something like this happens to you or one of your friends, because apparently you don’t have any soul or conscious – as dylan has stated shame on all of you and if you have such a problem with the show or with Taylor, here’s a thought…. don’t watch!
Todd,
Many of us have been the targets of violence as have friends of ours.
Taylor has stated personally that the show proudly represents him, his political views and his religious views but that he is *not* representative of the “gay community” – his words… 🙂
Well what is it?
Does the show in which he is manipulative and dates Mohammed mainly to spite someone and comes across as a petty conniving individual truly represent him?
What about him misleading his parents…
AH: How does your family feel about you being on the show?
TG: Well … haha – my family doesn’t get that channel. They live on a ranch. So, they know I’ve been filming but they think it’s for a documentary about my professional career with my peers. I’ve just kept it at that.
Are we supposed to see all the examples of him saying he’s manipulative and actions that show he is not honest in how he communicates and not question his personal and political motives?
If his fellow cast mates (friends? 🙂 can’t even decide if he’s telling the truth and they personally interact with him, how ya think it looks to the gay community, which Taylor says he doesn’t represent…
How about the Fundraising and how another cast member communicated his feeling about those with HIV/AIDS?

Here’s a thought, we can look at the show and voice our displeasure to the bars & other places that choose to be part of this and to LOGO TV…
@todd – I’ve had my ass beats on several occasions when I was in my early 20’s – usually because I was running my mouth, thought I was better than everyone else, and I deserved it, thankfully, I’ve grown up since then, and am a totally different person. and you say “don’t watch”…many of us arent – I watched about half the first episode, when they were introducing the cast, and that was more than enough for me – the shit babble that came out of their mouths made me sick. and from what I hear when friends discuss watching it, there is enough gay on gay violence amongst themselves, that they don’t need to look to other people to do it.
