Toro Toro will present Dia de las Madres, a bottomless brunch event. Guests can partake in stations such as a Ceviche Station featuring Hamachi Tiradito, Ahi Amarillo Ceviche, and Shrimp Cocktail Aguachile; A Grilled Station which offers Wagyu Medallions, Duck Confit Tacos, Grilled Salmon, and Prawns; An Omelet Station that can be completely customized; and a special Dessert Station of Chocolate Cake, Macarons, and a Three Corn Cake which was created by Chef Richard Sandoval and his grandmother. Made with a hibiscus-mezcal reduction and topped with almonds with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.

Beverages feature a brunch lineup of traditional Mimosas, Mango Mimosas, Mimosa Misterioso, Mayo Mimosa, Michelada, Bloody Mary and a Bloody Maria. Reservations can be made here.

Open Palette, inside Sheraton Dallas Hotel in downtown, is celebrating all moms with Mother’s Day Brunch from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The buffet style brunch includes omelet, waffle, pasta and salad bar stations, charcuterie table, salmon, prime rib, pork loin and a display of sweet desserts. The price is $55 per person and includes non-alcoholic beverages. Brunch is 50 perfect off for children aged 12 and under. Reservations can be made here.

Scout at The Statler is hosting a luxe Mother’s Day brunch with complimentary bubbles for mom and a buffet full of its favorite dishes. The prix fixe brunch buffet ($49.99) will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Each mom will receive a complimentary glass of bubbly, and guests can enjoy a mimosa bar and a bloody Mary bar for an additional fee. Shiner introduces new Mexican-style cerveza

Texas-based Shiner gets ready for the summer with a new flavor for poolside lounging, backyard BBQs and more. Crafted with premium two-row malt and Lager yeast and brewed with agave, ¡Órale! features an earthy, mildly sweet flavor and can be paired easily with summer fare such as tacos, hamburgers and hot dogs, BBQ, cheese plates and more.

This beer is a passion project for Gambrinus Company CEO Carlos Alvarez. Alvarez grew up in Mexico and has a history of working with brands in the cerveza style such as Corona.

¡Órale! (4.5% ABV) will roll out nationally in May and will come in 6-bottle/can (SRP: $8.99) or 12-bottle/can packs (SRP: $14.99).

Celebrating Cinco de Mayo

Taqueria la Ventana hosts a Cinco celebration across its locations. Honoring the traditions of the holiday, La Ventana’s location in the heart of downtown will feature live music, chihuahua races, street tacos, margaritas and more. VIP tables with five seats can be purchased for $100, and include table service, Cinco de Mayo swag and more.

El Chingon in Fort Worth’s cultural district will feature over-the-top individual and shareable cocktails that are topped with popsicles, chamoy straws, plus Mexican fare like authentic fajitas, nine variations of craft tacos and more.

Legacy West will host a Cinco de Mayo Happy Hour Hike on May 5 from 6-9 p.m. where guests enjoy wine, beer and cocktails while discovering new shops, restaurants and experiences throughout the Legacy West neighborhood. Photo ops, live music and shopping discounts are all part of the festivities.

Just in time for Cinco, The Mexican, is now featuring itsCasa Dragones Hidalgo Margarita. This luxury cocktail is crafted with Casa Dragones añejo tequila, a barrel blend that has notes of macadamia, nutmeg, and blackberry. The cocktail is also made with Grand Marnier Louis Alexandre, lime and citrus gold salt.

The Añejo blend is matured in two different wood barrels, new French Oak and new American Oak. At the end of the aging process (which is a little more than a year), both barrel styles are blended together to create a uniquely smooth, agave-forward taste profile. Casa Dragones is produced in small batches of no more than 500 cases at a time, allowing them to deliver meticulous attention to detail in each batch.

Cantina Laredo celebrates with party packs and drink collection. On May 5, the restaurants will feature the following “Fiesta Fever” drink collection with citrusy flavors.

Local restaurant supports Ukraine efforts

To support relief efforts in Ukraine, City Works Eatery & Pour House, located in Fort Worth and Frisco, will offer guests Syrnyk, a sweet and rich Ukrainian cheesecake, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting World Central Kitchen (WCK). The cultural dessert staple will be offered beginning May 4.

The support for WCK comes at a time when an affiliated relief kitchen came under fire in Kharkiv just last week. Currently, WCK with their local partners prepare about 320,000 meals per day to feed people in Ukraine.
