Palin
You better watch out, You better not cry, You better not pout, I’m telling you why … Sarah Palin will be appearing at the Fairmont Hotel on April 30. And Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert will be there with a welcome.
The former vice presidential candidate will appear at the Fairmont Hotel at a fundraiser for a non-existent women’s center in Oak Lawn. This is the first project for a new group called Palin 4 Life.
Tickets begin at $1,000, which includes dinner. For just $10,000, you can be included in a VIP reception with VIP seating, have a listing in the program and get a professional 8-by-10-inch photo taken with Palin. You can also get two tickets for $25,000 or four tickets for $75,000.
Interesting math, you betcha.
Palin 4 Life claims to be a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, which would make tickets tax deductible. However, a quick search of the IRS web site to verify the organization’s 501(c)(3) status returned this result:

The evening of fundraising for this non-existent women’s center by this non-tax exempt organization will feature a special greeting and welcome by Mayor  Leppert.
The event is to raise money to buy an Oak Lawn property on Fairmount Street.
They claim that it will be a “one-of-a-kind women’s health and wellness resource center serving professional and collegiate women in the North Texas community. This is a new concept that will be a model for other centers in the country.”
From a splash page, the center links back to Palin 4 Life. Uptown Women’s Center also claims to be a 501(c)(3) but is also not listed as tax-exempt on the IRS Web site. No additional information is given about the center.
