UPDATE: Dallas Voice has just learned that the property manager at ilume sent out an alert, at 1:19 p.m. today (Monday, Dec. 5) informing residents of the property that the suspect in the Sunday disturbance was arrested later Sunday evening at a different location.
UPDATE 2: According to Sr. Cpl. Laura Marftin, the suspect was arrested on unrelated charges.
Several residents of ilume have reported that multiple police cars responded to a call at ilume, 4123 Cedar Springs Road, on Sunday afternoon, and police today (Monday, Dec. 5) said officers were responding to a call regarding a non-resident harassing a former partner who lives at ilume.
Police told residents to stay in their apartments and lock the doors. While several residents reported possible gunshots fired, police did not confirm any shots and said the incident ended when the suspect was no longer in the building.
Police Senior Corporal Tramese D. Jones told Dallas Voice:
“On Sunday, December 4, 2016, at approximately 4:10 p.m., Dallas police officers received a call regarding a major disturbance call in the 4100 block of Cedar Springs Road. A witness called police and informed 911 call takers that the suspect came to her apartment about 3:00 p.m. and knocked on the complainant’s door. The witness informed suspect he was not allowed at the location and the suspect left when the witness called for police.
“The suspect became upset and went into a neighbor’s residence, called the victim, and stated he had possession of a weapon. Upon officers’ arrival, the suspect was no longer at or near the location.”
According to ilume resident Keith Pomykal, police were initially unable to get into the building because they didn’t have updated security codes. Pomykal used his fob to grant police access. Stephanie Gonzalez, marketing director for Venterra, ilume’s new owner, has been contacted for comment and we’ll update when we hear from the company.
