Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Congressman Ron Paul, R-Texas, traded barbs on camera during Wednesday night’s GOP presidential debate in California. But Perry also reportedly lit into Paul off-camera during a commercial break. Above is one of several photos that have emerged of the exchange. The Guardian reports:
Before Wednesday night’s debate, Paul’s campaign launched a series of attacks on Perry’s political career, including a hard-hitting TV ad, and followed with some snippy comments by Paul during the debate itself.
Several photographers captured the scene on stage at the Ronald Reagan Library – and of course there’s no way of knowing what was being discussed. But given Paul’s recent attacks, I’m guessing it wasn’t about the chances of the Texas A&M football team this season.
The Guardian has more photos. Paul’s ad accusing Perry of being Al Gore’s Texas cheerleader in 1988 is below:
Rick Perry is really attempting to force people to do things. Here tries to force Ron Paul to change his words, he tried to force a police officer not to ticket him, forced 12 year old girls to have a vaccine for STD’s by executive order. His campaign is finished.
Ron Paul needs to give me a call about his personal injury claim.
Paul needs to hit that empty suit hard and heavy and keep up the pressure and everyone will see who the real Perry is and that my friend is a slime bag ambitious politician.
Do we really want this hothead’s finger on the nuclear trigger?
He’s probably threatening to “treat him pretty ugly”.
Someone should report Gov Perry to adult protective services.
Even though Rick Perry has one hand on Ron Paul’s wrist and the other in his face, Ron Paul does not look intimidated whatsoever. As a matter of fact, Ron Paul has a look of compassion on his face; as if he might feel bad for Perry for not being able to control his emotions and resorting to wrist grabbing and finger pointing. One thing is for sure; Rick Perry is neither emotionally or intellectually fit to be president. Ron Paul should not be criticized for bringing out the dirt on Perry, and he should continue to do more of the same until everyone gets the message that Rick Perry is a scumbag. The presidency is too important to remain silent and allow another ill-equiped establishment puppet to ruin our nation.
Pictures are worth a thousand words, but Ron Paul fired right back and said go ahead punk, make my day!
Donate to Ron Paul’s campaign now. It’s probably the last hope of using your continually shrinking dollar to accomplish something meaningful. Money talks and if that is any indication then Romney will spend his way into the nomination and you can kiss the Republic goodbye with four more years of “Change” after Obama kicks his ass.
By the way, the only change I’ve seen in the last three years is in the debt (going up) and in the value of any dollars I’ve managed to save (going down). Wake up people. Ron Paul is the man with the plan that will work. I hope he emerges from the media blackout as the last man standing because the people make their wishes felt at the ballot box.
Wish us luck. We’re going to need it.
Maybe Rick was asking the Doc out on a date…Rick, RP doesn’t play for our team. Dummy.
