We published an obituary Friday for Wendy Churitch, but plans for memorial services had not yet been finalized at that time. We have, however, since received that information, and want to pass it along.

A memorial service for Wendy, who died early Thursday morning, Sept. 29, at her home in Irving, will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, at Cathedral of Hope, 5910 Cedar Springs Road in Dallas.
Friends will also gather Saturday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m. at The Brick/Joe’s, 2525 Wycliff Ave., to share memories and stories in a celebration of Wendy’s life. If you have photos of Wendy, bring them with your stories.
And Wendy’s wife, Kay Mathews Churitch, has asked that in lieu of flowers, those who want to honor Wendy in some way can make a donation in her name to Operation Kindness, the pet rescue organization based in Carrollton. I remember meeting Wendy and Kay during a Freedom to Marry Rally in downtown Dallas. They had agreed to remarry in public and to apply for a marriage license at the County Clerk office. Due to horrific winter weather, the clerk office was closed that day but Kay and Wendy still renewed their vows in the snow. It was a very beautiful wedding and I will never forget that day. Rest in peace Wendy 🙂
