Thomas Purdy

Last week Anna posted a list of holiday parties planned by local LGBT political groups. But at the time we didn’t have details from one of Dallas’ two active LGBT Republican groups — the Log Cabin Republicans.

LCR President Thomas Purdy has since informed us that the group will hold its Holiday Party from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Monica’s Nueva Cocina, 4123 Cedar Springs Road. LCR Dallas was relaunched early this year after being dechartered last year amid controversy. Former LCR Dallas President Rob Schlein split off and formed his own group, Metroplex Republicans.

“As we look back over this past year, we have much to celebrate,” Purdy wrote in an email to the groups’ members this morning. “And as we look forward to next year, we have much to be excited about. Please join us at Monica’s Nueva Cocina for cocktails, food, and fellowship.”

Speaking of Log Cabin, below is an clip of LCR National President R. Clarke Cooper appearing yesterday on MSNBC’s Hardball With Chris Matthews to discuss conservative support for marriage equality.
