5th annual ‘Something to be Thankful For’ set for Nov. 8 at JR’s
Resource Center Dallas’s fifth annual “Something To be Thankful For” fundraiser will be held at JR’s Bar and Grill, 3923 Cedar Springs Road Sunday, Nov. 8, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The charity drag show and auction will be emceed by Cassie Nova. JR’s is donating the space for the event and the performers are donating their time and tips. Auction items include paintings and other works of art, a haircut and style by Marty Smith, a gift basket from Gaybingo Dallas and two VIP tickets to Toast To Life.

DIFFA Dallas names Style Council ambassadors, honorary chairs
The Dallas chapter of the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS recently announced the Style Council ambassadors and honorary chairs for DIFFA 2010, to be held at the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House on Wednesday, March 3.
DIFFA trustees and 2010 Co-Chairs David Hess and Carol Quist made the announcement during a recent party at The Meyerson Symphony Center.
Ellen and Don Winspear will serve as honorary chairs. Veletta Forsythe Lill, executive director of the Dallas Arts District, serves as the 2010 Style Council ambassador chair, and longtime DIFFA supporter Ana Pettus is Host Committee chair.
Style Council Ambassadors are Dr. Cordell Adams, Dr. Clifton Cox, Kelly Cox, Bryan Curran, Sara Fay Egan, Rebecca Hallam, Lexi Hammonds, Joseph Hernandez, Larry Lane, Jo Marie Lilly, Ed and Gable Shaikh, Court Westcott, Kameron Westcott and Paige Westhoff.

Conservative talk station seeking LGBT people for panel discussion
Jeff Bolton, talk show host for radio station KLIF 570 AM, who describes himself as “a pasty white, heterosexual guy with a gray beard” who “has no idea what it’s like to be black in Dallas Fort Worth. Or brown.Or yellow.Or red.Or female.Or gay/lesbian,” is looking for LGBT people in the DFW area to participate in an on-air panel discussion about their sexual orientation and what it’s like to be a member of the LGBT community in Dallas.
He has already done two similar programs, one about being black, one about being Hispanic.
