Scholarship program accepting applications
The GLBT Leadership Education & Advocacy Program (LEAP) is now accepting applications through May 31 for the 2014-15 academic year.

Since 2011, GLBT LEAP has granted nearly $20,000 in scholarships to deserving Texas students. Applicants are evaluated on demonstrated financial need, academic achievement and involvement in community service.

Preference is given to students who self-identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, are members of LGBT families or are allies who have been strongly supportive of the LGBT community.

The GLBT LEAP scholarships are designed to build leadership and promote diversity in the LBGT and allied communities. Awards may be used for any post-secondary education, including nontraditional or alternative programs and vocational training.

“I am extremely grateful to the GLBT Leadership Education & Advocacy Program for selecting me to be a GLBT LEAP Scholar in 2011,” said Pamela Bowers, Ph.D. “Because of the support I received from GLBT LEAP I was able to complete my education and begin giving back to the community.”

Scholarship criteria and application form can be found at GLBTLEAP.org.
