Prior to their full-length release later this year, lesbian hip-hop duo God-des and She has released this preview track. “You Know My Name” is a little all over the place. Some of the lyrics remind of Salt-n-Pepa’s early stuff, but at this point in hip-hop, and on this being the duo’s fourth album, do we need a spell out of their name? Especially one that tells us don’t forget the hyphen please (repeat).
This far into their career, I’d just hope they’d have more to say. Perhaps we’ll see when the album drops.
