Whoa. I almost forgot about this little dittie. While we’re still waiting on the video, George Michael released a lyric video of his latest single, “White Light.”. The single released June 29 marked the 30th anniversary of the release of his first hit with Wham! This is also following up his near-fatal bout with pneumonia where the singer underwent a tracheotomy. Yikes.
The song has a great smoothness to its beat, but the lyrics play a bit unevenly. And there is a slight different to Michael’s voice. But it’s good to see him back from such a trying illness.
Listen to the track after the jump.
Thanks for the video. Don’t know why it’s been disabled on youtube. For what it’s worth, the song sounds pretty directionless. George’s forte has always been “rearranging” other people’s work. This isn’t a criticism because it usually sounds better than the original and that is a talent which is hard to come by. Let’s hope he gets that back as well.
…Can’t smile without you/Last Christmas, Yesterday/Jesus to a child, Woman in Love (The Three Degrees)/ bridge of Freedom (Wham version) and last, but not least, Forget me nots/Fastlove.
George truly has given us all a second lease of youth. Cheers.
Love the mesh T.
