I love techno toys, but I’m also (1) cheap and (2) highly unskilled at maximizing their usefulness, so most of them languish around me. I don’t have an iPad (yet — birthday is next week, secret admirers!) but apparently Steve Jobs sent out an e-mail last week saying the revolutionary device was not porno-compatible.
Except the gay site RocketTube.com claims it is. And that RocketTube has been available for use on the iPad since Day 1. (It has something to do with the difference between Adobe Flash and HTML5 … again, see item (2) above.)
Since I don’t have the device to verify the claim, and had never heard or RocketTube until their chest-beating claim of Apple-friendliness, all I could do was check out the browsable website and can confirm that it does, well, stream free gay porn. Maybe to a device you can hold in your hand. Which begs the question: What do you do with your other free hand?
I think it`s pretty stupid not allowing porn on any device, the user is the one who should decide what he/she wants to see/do, not a friggin CEO
Hey I hear ya.. but you gotta remember that Jobs has always been an arrogant control freak, He even called his old partner Woz an idiot publicly on stage in front of a huge audience which will be remembered by all who saw it.
At Apple.com it’s *HIS* way or no way… Period.. he wanted SQL and FileMaker and this is why you’ll never see MS-ACCESS database compatible programs on OS X..
His little empire is crumbling ever day as MS Windows 7 can now do even more things than the current OS X with ease and security on inexpensive machines. His iPAD is soon to collapse when Google’s Chrome-OS comes out on all the Netbooks later this year having access to all the free Android Apps (yes even Encountr the free Gay Dating Service which he would probably consider PORN too.) And since Flash support is built into the Chrome browser instead of a kludged ‘add-on’ they don’t have to fight or kiss Adobe’s ass as much.
But hey, the cool part is that they got to be the “First” to release the concept, and now the other Big Boys are gonna utilize those ideas and make a final product that’s even better. It’s so much fun watching all the Guinea Pigs squealers with dismay but this has always been the case with those who purchase version 1.0 or anything and the squealers always seem to forget this. hee hee.. That’s the price you pay for being on the ‘cutting edge’ right before getting cut yourself.

Steve Jobs HAAAAAS to say it’s not compatible – for the Bible-belters to be happy (although I’m sure they watch it themselves).
