UPDATE: No injuries in 4-alarm Oak Lawn fire

Dallas Fire and Rescue is still on Fleetwood Oaks, but was retracting the final ladder on the building just moments ago. The street should open to traffic soon. Hudnall Street is open to traffic.

Fire and police are still on the scene but the fire is out. During the afternoon commute, avoid Hudnall Avenue from Maple Avenue to Denton Drive. People who live on Fleetwood Oaks can access the far end of the street through the Towne Square parking lot. Gates that are usually locked remain open to through traffic.

A four-alarm fire damaged or destroyed up to 24 units at Town Oak Terrace, a condo complex on Fleetwood Oaks in Oak Lawn, half a block from the Tin Room.
A Dallas Fire Rescue spokesman said there were no injuries in the fire that broke out at about 11 a.m. He called putting out the fire a challenge because of the flat roof design.
The fire started in a second-floor unit on the corner of Fleetwood Oaks and Hudnall Street. The cause was probably electrical.
Fleetwood Oaks is a dead-end street and fire equipment has the street completely blocked. People from other complexes and a high rise on the street are getting in and out of the street through Towne Square, a six-story apartment complex. Gates that are usually locked facing Maple Avenue have been opened and anyone on the street may cut through the Towne Square parking lot.
Fire crews are expected to remain on the scene through the afternoon and the street will remain blocked. Anyone living on the street should cut through the parking lot to get to their homes.
Hudnall Street is closed because of fire equipment, blocking access to the Tin Room.
