Ryan Seacrest introduces Taylor Swift. OK, confession time, I have not jumped on the Swift bandwagon yet. Swift teams up with Stevie Nicks who she probably didn’t know who she was before tonight. Nicks looks good but she doesn’t look like she’s buying Swift’s cozying up. Ouch — Nicks reduced to a backup singer. Isn’t Swift just on the edge of 17? Poor Stevie.
Michael Jackson 3D tribute: Where’s my Avatar glasses??? Feeling a little goofy and I can’t seem to reach out and touch. Although it’s hilarious to see celebs sportin’ them. Is this lineup a little too random? Usher and Smokey I get but Celine, Carrie?
MJ’s “children” accept the Lifetime Achievement award for Jackson. Sweet speech by Prince Jackson.
um…I know that it was enough 7 months ago with all the time line tributes when THE LEGEND passed…but the Grammy’s needed to do something that paid better homage to the Prince of Pop. I understand the whole 3-D effect that they wanted to do but it could have so been done with a creative timeline of his timeless classics. Very disappointed. SHAME ON THE GRAMMYS!!!!!
I agree 100% with everything you just said. I went online specifically to get feedback on these two issues. I live in Canada with no target and had no idea that this 3D thing was happening. WTF!
WHERE ARE MY 3D GLASSES? And the last thing that grinds my gears is Taylor Swift and Stevie Nicks. Taylor sounded like shit which didn’t help the ill-fated arrangement. Preposterous duo!
It is a shame that MJ changed the face of music and he gets a half-assed tribute with a second-tier song. The Grammys, of all people, should have gone all out. @Sarah My BF is in total agreement with you re Swift’s voice.
Was everyone at home supposed to have 3d glasses laying around? If I had known, I would have definitely kept the ones from Avatar on Saturday. Instead I had to see one and a half Smokey Robinsons.
We found some from the Coraline DVD we hadn’t opened.
