Fort Worth’s response to the Rainbow Lounge raid has earned the city recognition from Out & Equal Workplace Advocates, the national organization dedicated to ending workplace discrimination for LGBT people.

According to an email obtained by Dallas Voice, the city of Fort Worth is one of four finalists for Out & Equal’s 2011 Significant Achievement Award, which “recognizes an employer that has made significant recent strides in advancing a fair and equitable workplace for its LGBT employees.” The other finalists for this year’s Significant Achievement Award are Alcoa Inc., Barclays Capital and Google Inc.

The Significant Achievement Award, along with group’s other annual honors known as the “Outies,” will be presented during the 2011 Out & Equal Workplace Summit, which happens to be in Dallas this year from Oct. 25-28.
