Albert Sherwood “Woody” Oglesby, a retired Methodist minister, died Tuesday, Nov. 20.
He was born Nov. 28, 1955, in Morocco, to the late Carl Albert and Edna Earle Haynes Oglesby. He was the pastor of St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church in Amarillo from 1981 to 1983, and pastored at the Metropolitan Community ChurchDallas in the late 1980s. After retiring from the ministry, Oglesby worked at Richland College in Dallas.
A happy, friendly person, he believed in living each day to its fullest. He was a leader and ministered to anyone who sought his counsel.
Oglesby is survived by his brothers, Darryl Oglesby of Dallas, Robert Oglesby and wife, Judy of Amarillo and Carlton Oglesby and wife, Leslie of Bronson, Fla.; nieces, Haley and Marian; and extended family and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Grace United Methodist Church, 4105 Junius St., in Dallas.
Nancy Carolyn Moltenbrey of Dallas died Monday, Nov. 26.
She was born Sept. 25, 1946, in Boston, Mass., and was a psychotherapist in private practice for many years. Moltenbrey was spunky and feisty and never lost her will to live. She and her partner, Hilary, loved to travel. She was an avid cat lover who had five furry children.
Moltenbrey is survived by her partner, Hilary Brooks of Dallas; sisters, Elaine and Cathy Moltenbrey of Daytona, Fla.; in-laws, Ron Brooks, Josephine Toomer and husband, Paul, and Chris Brooks and wife, Shelagh; cousin, Kathy Sanford of Boston; nephews, Neil and Patrick Brooks; her extended family; and friends too numerous to mention.
Services were held Thursday, Nov. 29 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3204 Fairmount Street. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions in Moltenbrey’s name be given to a charity of your choice.
