Bobby Chadwick Swafford, 67, died suddenly and unexpectedly in his home in Dallas on Oct. 15. Born Nov. 1, 1941, Swafford, known to his friends as “The Duchess of Swish,” was known as the host of many large and wonderful events. He worked in the wholesale floral business for more than 30 years, and was a member of Airliners, Prime Timers, Lakewood Social Club, White Rock Brunch Club and the Crewe of Apollo.
Swafford’s warm personality made everyone around him feel at ease. He traveled the world with his partner, and was known for his expensive floral arrangements and drag outfits. He felt a little glitter never hurt anyone, and a few sequins were required for everything. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Swafford was preceded in death by his lifelong partner, Jere Hinkley. He is survived by his brother.
