Congressman Pete Sessions, a Republican from Dallas, spoke strongly against repealing “don’t ask don’t tell” moments ago on the House floor.
“I think it’s a slap in the face to the members of the military to be driven down a road that is driven by a political agenda from the left in this country rather than a wise policy,” Sessions said, his voice rising.
Earlier, Houston Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee spoke in favor of repealing DADT.
“It is giving everyone a chance to be an American,” she said. “I believe it is an important step.”
The debate is continuing on the House floor, with a vote on the amendment expected later today. Watch live by going here.
I love Sheila Jackson Lee. It balances out some of the garbage coming from Texas, like that speech by Pete Sessions and all the other Republican scumbags who just don’t understand the concept of serving with honesty and integrity.
je, it’s always so good to hear the calming sensitive voice of a liberal. Are you a New Yorker, too.
Queen Sheila has done nothing for the 18 CD in fifteen years. She has no thoughts, ideas, or convictions unless she is told to have them by the party. John Faulk is giving a challenge in November. All will be well, them je. God Bless.
