SENATE VOTE UPDATE:
–The Senate Armed Services Committee markup of the Defense Authorization bill remains underway.
–The Senate markup is CLOSED. There have been reports the session will open for the vote on the repeal amendment. Background: It takes a committee vote to open the session. We do not know if it will be open or not until that vote happens.
–We understand the vote on the amendment will take place THIS AFTERNOON.
HOUSE VOTE UPDATE:
–The House has begun debate on the rule to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
–Rep. Patrick Murphy’s repeal amendment is one of 82 amendments and could possibly come up for debate later tonight.
