Cheryl Orr
Cheryl D. Orr is the new vice president of human capital for Dallas Area Rapid Transit.
Until her appointment, Orr was ethics and diversity officer for the city of Dallas, where she worked on updating ordinances to be trans inclusive and to provide equal benefits for LGBT city employees. She helped establish CAPE, the city’s new LGBT employee group.
Her duties at DART will include developing, directing and overseeing programs and activities in employee recruitment and retention, organizational development, human resource information services, employee benefits, compensation and wellness.
Orr holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a Masters in Social Work from Rutgers University in New Jersey. She also holds a certificate in Organizational Development from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
