Cathedral of Hope to collect Thanksgiving baskets on Sunday

For the 26th year, the Cathedral of Hope will offer Thanksgiving baskets to needy Dallas families on Sunday, Nov. 18.

To participate, simply pick up the shopping list or print it from here, do the shopping, place the items in a laundry basket and bring it to the church Sunday before 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services.

Anyone in the congregation who needs a food basket should email Sheila Coughlin at sjjcoughlin@yahoo.com or call the church at 214-351-1901, and a beautiful, wellstocked food basket will be provided to them.

UPDATE, 4 p.m.: The Cathedral committed to fulfilling 400 requests for baskets this year — the same number as last year — and is no longer accepting requests, according to spokeswoman Phoebe Sexton, who also sent over the below photo from last year’s event. Sexton said the church still needs people to supply baskets, and they can drop off everything in a plastic laundry basket Sunday morning before 11.
