Harvey Meissner, president and general manager of The Hidden Door Inc., on Tuesday, May 1, presented checks totaling $250,000 to three community organizations with funds from the Jim Roberts Charitable Trust and the Anthony Bobrow Trust. Resource Center, Legacy Counseling Center and AIN (Access and Information Network, formerly AIDS Interfaith Network) each received $87,833 in what Meissner said will be the first of the donations the Bobrow Trust is expected to make in the years to come.

Jim Roberts first opened The Hidden Door in 1979, and Anthony “Tony” Bobrow took over as owner when Roberts died in the late 1980s. Roberts’ estate went into a trust upon his death, which Bobrow managed as a chair. With Bobrow’s unexpected death earlier this year, his estate went into what Meissner said is a self-sustaining trust that will be used in years to come to continue Roberts’ and Bobrow’s legacy of helping the LGBT community.
