Wreath Auction FB Event PhotoAlexandre’s bar will host its Annual Christmas Wreath Auction on Sunday, Dec. 15, from 8–10 p.m. to raise money for the Needle Prick Project, a national HIV multimedia awareness campaign.

The funds will go directly to the NPP Youth First Initiative, a new program that focuses on engaging at risk youth in education and conversation about HIV prevention and stigma. Tyler Curry, a Dallas native and syndicated magazine columnist, created NPP as a way to engage the community in much needed conversation about what it will take to reduce transmission rates while eliminating HIV stigma. A pre-party on Saturday evening will kick off at 6:30 p.m. and will feature catered food, drink specials and additional opportunity for silent bidding before the auction.

Local businesses and individuals can donate an original wreath for this event. Wreaths may be submitted at any time and up until the day of the event.

The Christmas Wreath Auction was created in 2006 by bar owner Lee Daugherty as an original and fun way to raise funds for local charities. Through the years the Annual Wreath Auction has raised over $25,000 for a variety of charities in Dallas such as the Resource Center and  Legacy Founder’s Cottage.

Wreaths will be on display for viewing and silent bidding inside Alexandre’s bar though Dec. 15.

Submit a wreath with an entry form providing:

1) a brief description of the wreath
2) its estimated value
3) and the name of the person or organization donating it

The entry forms can be picked up anytime at Alexandre’s Bar. Please limit the size of wreaths to 48 inches.
