WorldPride DC 2025 announced Wednesday that Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award-winner and three-time Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo will headline the WorldPride 2025 Saturday night Street Festival and Concert on the Capitol Stage following the parade. The news was revealed Wednesday afternoon on ABC’s “GMA3: What You Need to Know.”

The free two-day event will feature a mix of local artists, DJs and performers alongside celebrity entertainers scheduled for the Closing Ceremony event. Taking place June 7-8 on Pennsylvania Avenue, the WorldPride event will transform the heart of the nation’s capital into a display of Pride, music, and unity, with Erivo’s headlining performance against the backdrop of the U.S. Capitol Building.

“As the culminating event for the parade, the Saturday night concert will be an extraordinary moment of unity, celebration, and visibility for our global LGBTQ+ community,” Ryan Bos, Executive Director of the Capital Pride Alliance, host of WorldPride 2025 said in today’s press release. “Cynthia Erivo’s powerful artistry and unwavering advocacy make her the perfect artist to headline this momentous event.”

An award-winning performer recognized for her extraordinary talent, Erivo is also a passionate advocate for LGBTQ rights, using her platform to promote equity and representation.

The celebration is for and by the community and will feature a diverse range of LGBTQ performances on multiple stages, showcasing an array of multicultural and multilingual performances.

The WorldPride Street Festival and Concert takes place on Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8, from noon until 10 p.m. along Pennsylvania Ave., NW (between 9th and 3rd Street).

The full lineup for the closing night concert on Sunday is to-be-announced.

This year’s WorldPride theme, The Fabric of Freedom, symbolizes the unity and resilience of the LGBTQ community. Following the 2024 presidential inauguration, it serves as a reminder of the ongoing fight for equality and the strength found in diversity. This theme weaves together the histories, struggles, and triumphs of LGBTQ individuals worldwide, reinforcing the importance of visibility, advocacy, and celebration.
