Ellis Tate Davis-Erdel
Former Texas gubernatorial candidate and Fort Worth state Sen. Wendy Davis announced on her Facebook page that she became a grandmother this weekend:
“Ellis Tate Davis-Erdel (my first grandchild!) arrived on Friday the 29th of April. She has stolen my heart completely!!! (Notably, she shares a birthday with Willie Nelson.)”
Congratulations, Wendy.
Davis served in the Texas Senate from 2009-2015. She gained national attention when she singlehandedly filibustered an anti-abortion bill that later passed in a special session. She became the Democratic nominee for governor in 2015, but lost to Greg Abbott.
