The buzz on the music web is all about the Gaga again. In grandiose fashion, her videos have become events and she doesn’t skimp on today’s release of “Alejandro.” I think she scores much better here than the unfocused “Telephone” video from March. I love her play on looks here and she gets into the whole play with religious iconography. Yeah, we’ve seen it before, but the video makes it work for her. It’s shocking, yet elegant. Her bed scene with male dancers in skimpy undies and high heels is more an artful choreographed piece than “gasp! men in stilettos?”
Although, I don’t quite get the small black and white retro part where she switches to another image that recalls this a little too much. It distracted a bit, but the quick cut to her machine gun bra made the payoff so worth it.

Is that an old Madonna beat playing in the background, with Gaga providing new vocals?
Don’t get me wrong, I love her politics, still undecided about her musical career.
