Maneesh Goyal, a gay North Texas native who chairs MKG, the marketing event management company he started in 2001, is one of five finalists for Entrepreneur Magazine’s Entrepreneur of 2011 Award.
Goyal, born and raised in the Dallas area, graduated from Plano High School in 1993 before attending Duke and Yale universities. He now lives in New York, where he serves on the board of the Empire State Pride Agenda, the statewide LGBT advocacy group. Goyal is also active with his partner in the Hetrick-Martin Institute, home to the Harvey Milk School.
Goyal’s company, MKG, is described as “an experiential marketing and branding agency” that “develops live events and experiences that ultimately create meaningful, lasting connections between people and brands.” The company has 38 full-time employees and recorded $10 million in sales in 2010. Its clients include Delta Air Lines, Coca-Cola, Google, Ralph Lauren and American Express..
