A violent brawl between two transgender women was caught on tape in the parking lot of a San Antonio convenience store early this morning. KENS Channel 5 reports:
San Antonio police had to use a taser on a transgender individual who had been involved in the heated fight in the 800 block of San Pedro early Monday morning.
Investigators said the suspect hurled a shoe at them after their conversation reached a boiling point. They said that individual now faces criminal charges.
The other person in the fight did not cooperate with investigators and left the scene.
The original argument between the two transgender individuals escalated into a fight at about 4 a.m. Monday. The source of the disagreement remains unclear. Witnesses gave several different explanations of what may have prompted the parking lot fight.
The two clashed just feet from a KENS 5 news truck, and most of the incident was caught on camera. Police initially said they would consider issuing citations for the fight.

Why is this newsworthy (for KENS or Dallas Voice)? Are you getting into the business of posting about cat-fights now? Sounds pretty TMZ or Perez Hilton if you ask me. Well this is a blog so maybe not that far fetched but why is a mainstream local news station showing thing crap? Probably to disgrace and demean the trans community. Would they show a cat fight between two ciswomen? Probably not.

Why show this? I don’t care to watch anyone in a ‘violent brawl.’ Just because they’re transgender doesn’t make it funny. It just adds negative attention to people that already have to take a lot of guff from everyone.
Poor taste of KENS to even air this. And if you look at their anchors on the story on their website, they are borderline inappropriate and making fun of the GLBT community. This is pure exploitation of a fight between two “different” individuals by KENS and I’m shocked the Voice would post this sans any comments to that affect. I hope GLAAD gets involved and calls KENS out on this. Awful television– just awful.

This is DISGUSTING. Every one of those pathetic low-lifes who were standing on the sidelines watching as if it were a reality show as this poor trans gets her head beat into the concrete, should be arrested or beat themselves. It is rediculous that noone would stop that piece of trash from attacking her. I find thi s sad, and dis-heartening. I do hope she is brought to some serious charges.
