Dallas City Council candidate Omar Narvaez
The LGBT Victory Fund endorsed 19 candidates today for 2019 races, including Omar Narvaez in his bid for a second term on the Dallas City Council.
On its website, Victory Fund wrote under Narvaez’s picture, “Omar will continue to be a critical LGBTQ voice on the Dallas City Council.”
He’s the only candidate endorsed so far this year in Texas.
Because 2019 is an off-year for elections, all 19 races are local city and county races. Among the notable races is Jane Castor who is running for mayor of Tampa. Victory Fund designated this a spotlight race, which means it’s a priority.
Other LGBT people running for mayor of large cities this year who have been endorsed by Victory Fund are Lori Lightfoot, Chicago; Jolie Justus, Kansas City; and Satya Rhodes-Conway, Madison, Wisc.
