The USA Film Festival — at 48 editions, the oldest film fest in Dallas — announced the lineup of programming for its upcoming festival, which includes about one-third films featuring gay content and/or LGBT filmmakers. Among the highlights will be a special tribute to former heartthrob and out screen legend Richard Chamberlain, screening his cult classic, Peter Weir’s 1977 The Last Wave; a screening of a documentary about revered makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin; and a preview of the new lesbian drama Disobedience. In addition, many of the screenings will be free of charge.
The festival takes place at the Angelika Mockingbird Station, April 25–29. We will have full coverage, including an interview with Chamberlain, later in the month. You can preview the schedule at USAFilmFestival.com.
