Michael Doughman

Officials with the Dallas Tavern Guild announced today (Thursday, June 13), that the Tavern Guild is donating $10,000 to cover final expenses for the late Michael Doughman, the man who was DTG’s executive director and the lead organizer for Dallas Pride for nearly 18 years.

This donation means that all proceeds from a fundraising show being held Saturday, at 3 p.m., at The Round-Up Saloon, as well as all money raised through a GoFundMe campaign initially intended to help pay Doughman’s medical expenses after he fell ill, will go to the Michael Doughman Scholarship Fund, established by the Tavern Guild last year in his honor. As of Thursday afternoon, the GoFundMe total stood at just over $5,600.

Doughman, who retired last fall and moved to Puerto Vallarta, died at his home there last Sunday, June 9, following a brief illness.
