Dallas may not have any openly gay candidates for City Council this year, but San Antonio has two, Chris Forbrich and Elena Guarjardo. Forbrich, pictured above, is running in District 1, and Guarjardo is running in District 7. Forbrich co-founded a gay fraternity at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He’s also on the steering committee of the Human Rights Campaign and the board of Stonewall Democrats of San Antonio. Guarjardo was the first openly lesbian person elected to the San Antonio City Council in 2005, but lost her bid for re-election in 2007. Both Forbrich and Guarjardo spoke at the Texas Stonewall Democrats convention in Austin this afternoon, during a forum titled, “Embracing Our Own: Openly LGBT Elected Officials, Candidates and Leaders in Texas.” Other speakers at the forum included Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez, Dallas County District Clerk Gary Fitzsimmons, Houston City Controller (and mayoral candidate) Annise Parker and Fort Worth City Councilman Joel Burns (see above).сайт объявлений москвапродвижение портала недорого
