Earlybirds Club is an early-evening dance party that has been making a strong impression across the country. Even Kelly Clarkson has caught on to the vibe. This Saturday, the club brings its experience to Dallas. Designed as a safe space for women, trans, and nonbinary folks, the nightclub experience offers some sick beats for those who want to dance, feel free, reconnect with themselves and be in a space that feels safe, warm, celebratory, and unpretentious. Think packed dance floors, zero late-night regret that also supports nonprofits that uplift women and the gender-expansive communities and home in time for bed — or as the flyer states “A dance party for the ladies…who have shit to do in the morning.”
“It’s a fun dance party that is so cathartic,” co-founder Laura Baginski told The Argonaut earlier this year. “Women are on the dance floor screaming their lungs out to their favorite songs.”
The party begins at 6 p.m. and runs through 10 p.m. Gay men call this a tea dance, but Earlybirds isn’t just a dance party — it’s a respite.
Each night, partygoers dance and sing along to hits from the ’80s through the 2000s, ofteen times with themed nights.
And yes, the party is geared toward a distinct community, but men are still welcome. Just have some chill, dudes.
According to Baginski, women may bring their husbands along or some just come to check out the event but stay out of the way. Because this night is not for them.
Additionally, 10 percent of every party’s proceeds across the country are donated to the Susie Lee Legacy Fund, named after the late co-founder and Baginski’s best friend who passed from breatst cancer. The fund in turn then donates to local nonprofit that is dedicated to uplifting women and trans and nonbinary communities.
