Texas residents have until today (Monday, Oct. 5), to register to vote in the Nov. 3 general and joint election.
Those who are already registered are encouraged to take a few minutes to check their voter registration status and make sure their information is current. Voters should pay attention if their status is listed as “Suspense.” This generally means the voter needs to confirm or update their current residence address.
A voter with a Suspense status is still registered and may be eligible to vote. Before the Oct. 5 registration deadline, voters are encouraged to resolve their Suspense status by confirming or updating their address. Dallas County voters can visit DallasCountyVotes.org for information on how to update their address.
If a voter’s registration status remains in Suspense after the Oct. 5 registration deadline and the voter still lives in Dallas County, they can complete a Statement of Residence at the vote center to confirm or update their address and vote if otherwise eligible.
Early Voting begins Monday, Oct. 19, and continues through Friday, Oct. 30. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Visit DallasCountyVotes.org to check your voter registration status, find registration information and learn more about the November 3 General and Joint Election.
Or you can visit Dallas County Elections Department, 1520 Round Table Drive, to register to vote in person.
