Through its 2026 Community Grant Cycle, Texas Women’s Foundation has awarded $900,000 to 25 nonprofit organizations — including Prism Health North Texas and Resource Center — working to remove the barriers to economic security, stability and success for Texas women, their families and their futures.
As part of the annual grant cycle, two special groups of supporters selected nonprofits to champion through their annual giving and engagement. Texas Women’s Foundation’s Board Alumnae awarded $40,000 to Shared Housing Center for housing and wraparound services from the Virginia B. Whitehill endowed fund. TXWF’s Nineteen network, named in honor of the organization’s 19 diverse and determined founders, awarded $40,000 to The Family Place for its Children’s Educational Service program.
All 25 grant recipients were recognized and celebrated at a special reception on Sept. 25.
“This support from Texas Women’s Foundation will help Prism Health North Texas expand access to women’s health services in South Dallas and Oak Cliff, connecting more women to preventive, reproductive, and prenatal care close to home,” said Prism Health Chief Marketing and Development Officer Kim Burgan. “We cared for more than 3,700 women last year, and we continue to see the need grow. In the month following this grant, we welcomed eight new prenatal patients alone. This funding will help us reach more women who may otherwise face barriers in cost, insurance, transportation, or access to care in their own communities.”
“For many LGBTQIA+ women, finding healthcare that is accessible, affirming, and responsive to their unique health needs remains a significant challenge,” said Resource Center CEO Cece Cox. “Texas Women’s Foundation’s investment will help Resource Center Health address that gap by expanding access to specialized preventive care, screenings, and client support in a setting designed to meet the whole person with dignity and compassion.”
