Officials with Texas Latino Pride, the nonprofit organization celebrating the cultural heritage of the Latino and LGBTQ communities in Texas, this week announced that the organization is expanding its annual festival with the introduction of Texas Latino Pride Weekend, a multi-day celebration that will “highlight and amplify our creative vision and our societal impact in the Lone Star State,” according to a press release making the announcement.
The Texas Latino Pride Festival is set for Saturday, Sept. 12, from 3-10 p.m. at Reverchon Park, along with several collaborative events with partners, including premier sponsor, SomosLOUD, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation and Caven Enterprises.
This year, TXLP “empowered the voices of LGBTQ and Latino Texans through the second annual Queer & Trans Liberation March in Fort Worth, the inaugural Selena 4ever event at Station 4 and additional programming focused on voter outreach, immigration services and transgender healthcare.” Noting that 2025 was a “record-breaking year” for TXLP, the organization’s president, Juan Contreras, said, “Texas Latino Pride’s focus has and will always be on community impact. Celebrating who we are, despite the setbacks we may face in this unprecedented time, is essential. Texas Latino Pride Weekend is an opportunity for our gente, no matter their background, to come together and love in pride.”
TXLP Vice President Jacob Reyes added, “We are at a crucial moment in this country. Through that awareness, Texas Latino Pride’s commitment to our communities remains and, in fact, strengthens. Celebrating our traditions is an act of resilience and through this incredible weekend of programming, Texas Latino Pride is committed to ensuring our joy is never erased.”
