SOS-LogoSOS – Survivors Offering Support meets once a month to provide a safe haven for survivors of violent crime to come together and share their stories of hope and encouragement or to process some of the struggles they’re experiencing in their recovery with others who have lived through similar experiences. The group is discreet and respectful.
While SOS was started as a response to the recent attacks in Oak Lawn, anyone who has been the victim of a violent crime is welcome to attend. Sharing those experiences with people who are not yet ready to talk about what happened to them helps those not yet ready to talk about it know they are not alone.
The next meeting is at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at Resource Center, 2701 Reagan St. 512-438-9717.
