This Sunday at 6 p.m., Geeks OUT — a group dedicated to LGBT visibility in the gaming and comics community — will host its first-ever local event: The 2012 Dallas WiiLYMPICS at Barcadia.

The event, coordinated by local gaymer DR Hanson, aims to entertain visitors attending this weekend’s Dallas Comic Con as well any local gaymers looking to meet and compete.

“Just because Fan Days ends at 5 p.m. on Sunday doesn’t mean Fans have to go home,” Hanson said. “Everyone can continue their geek-tastic weekend by smoking competitors in Mario Kart 4’s 100cc event or killing it in Wii Sport Doubles Tennis.”

Sign up goes from 6 to 6:30 p.m. with competitions beginning soon after. Gold, silver and bronze medals will go to the top three competitors in each event, and Barcadia will offer all attendees $4 you-call-its.

Barcadia is at 1917 N. Henderson Ave. For more information, visit the Dallas WiiLYMPICS Facebook event page.
