S. Dallas AIDS Walk to hold volunteer orientation

South Dallas is perhaps the hardest-hit area in Dallas County when it comes to HIV infections. And yet the area remains seriously under-served. That is why the newly formed Anthony Chisom AIDS Foundation decided last year to stage the first South Dallas AIDS Walk on March 19 this year — to heighten awareness among South Dallas residents, and to help focus the rest of the county’s attention on the need for more HIV-related resources there.
But you can’t have a successful AIDS walk without volunteers, and the foundation will be holding an orientation session Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the Oak Corner Room at the Center for Community Cooperation, 2900 Live Oak St.
