Bonnie JeanOk, so I am going to indulge in a bit personal promotion here:
Scarborough Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie opens its 2016 season tomorrow — that’s Saturday, April 9 — and will run for eight weekends, through Memorial Day. The reason its personal for me is that, for the first time, I will be “performing” at Scarborough.
No, I am not part of the Scarby cast. I won’t be singing or dancing or whatevering on any of the main stages. I will be playing doumbek — aka, the tabla, a Middle Eastern style drum — for the Star Dancer belly dancers who will be demonstrating the “costumes in motion” at the Belly Dance Treasures shop, located in Pecan Grove. I’ll be there on opening day tomorrow.
Many of friends, however, will be performing on a main stage — in the Wings of Isis and the Star Dancers belly dance show on the Ivanhoe Stage, on Taylor Lane in Pecan Grove.
(Pecan Grove, by the way, is to the right and across the bridge after you come in the main gate.)
Here’s a brief snippet of video from the Wings/Stardancers onsite dress rehearsal last weekend to get you in the mood. Come on out and see us!
