Apparently, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has more of a sense of humor than some folks give him credit for.
Earlier this month, the Republican Governator showed up unannounced at a Democratic fundraiser in San Francisco. He wasn’t well received (imagine that!), and someone in the audience even shouted out,”Kiss my gay ass!” That someone was rumored to have been gay Democratic State Assemblyman Tom Ammiano of San Francisco.
Since then, Schwarzenegger has vetoed a bill, sponsored by Ammiano and passed by both the Assembly and the Senate, that would have granted the Port of San Francisco expanded financing power to redevelop a former shipyard into a new neighborhood known as Pier 70. Then the governor sent Ammiano a letter notifying him of the veto.
Here’s the funny part. The letter appears to have encoded in it a special message for Ammiano: “Fuck you.”
